What we learned so far.

  1. Don’t trust Komoot
  2. We will follow the main roads to avoid water crossing

today we left our lovely accommodations, the Marbella Surf Inn and decided to follow the main road. Rte 160

We saw all manner of vehicles.

  • A lot of motor cycles.
  • ATVs
  • lumber trucks
  • paint trucks
  • electricians
  • a covered truck with caged chickens
  • a load of horses
  • dump trucks
  • and of course tourist buses

there seems to be no safety precautions for riding motorcycles.

There are a lot of people driving motorcycles with flip flops and no helmets. And today I saw 2 men on one motorcycle, they had rubber boots on, each with a whipper snipper hanging off the side.

The main route is not paved and the bridges are sometimes non existent. We stopped for a few minutes to catch our breath and watch the cars drive through the grill high water.

pedestrians, motorcycles and cyclists have a bridge.

Main road, no bridge

we arrived in Nosara, a beautiful beach town. This place is HOPPING.

Construction everywhere.

Trucks, 4x4’s, of course motorbikes, sawing, hammering, and building everywhere.

We tried at one hostel and it is closed for Reno’s. I think this is the call before the holiday storm.

We found a lovely spot, the Green Sanctuary, and have booked in for 2 nights. Time for a rest day.

Here’s what we’ve been up to:
