Another great ride and climb under our belts.

The highlight for me was after the morning ride in the remote track we stopped for lunch. It was “magical mate”.

Quite.

Scenic.

The birds were flitting hither and thither. And we had reached the summit of the mountain.

Such success and feeling of accomplishment. I biked the whole way. Save a few stretches where the loose asphalt was chunked up and unrideable.

Loose slopes gravel.

Lunchtime selfie:

Before we started our day we took a selfie

At the beach in San José. Elevation 0m!

Selfie at the top of the highest part of our ride today approx 360m

Still smiling!

We also met fellow traveller Salvador Selenas. He came riding up beside us and said, “hello fellow travellers”. He was well loaded and even had a guitar strapped on his back

And for the next few km we carried on a lively conversation.

He’s from Portugal, Lisbon.

tennis instructor in Lisbon and has decided to travel via bicycle.

We hope to see him again and we have exchanged information with the hopes of meeting up again in Montenegro! He has plans of Barcelona, boat to Greece, and travel around. Who knows our paths may cross again.

We are Staying in Carboneras for the night then back on the road tomorrow!
