We had a few “issues” with our Appartments last night.

i noticed when Bob was in the shower that I could hear the hot water heater clicking and creaking. I just nought it was the water tank heating. I opened the door to where the tank was an was met with a spray of hot water and dripping tank.

The tank was spraying water onto the ceiling of the closet and onto the floor. We un-plugged the water tank and turned off the water to the tank to minimize the spray and contacted the manager. To which he said thank you and “sorry”.

In the morning the bucket we had put under the tank to collect the water was overflowing and there was water all over the kitchen area floor.

We let the manager know we were leaving and that there was a significant amount of water on the floor, from the overnight leakage.

He said they were going to swap out the tank today. I wonder if it will happen.

A great ride today all on bike dedicated lanes adjacent to the highway. So civilized.

First stop… grocery store for bread and water

From the parking lot of the big grocery store. it was a great start to the day.

After leaving Torrevieja you pass between 2 salt water lakes. One we noticed had a de-salivation process going on and there were piles of salt. Giant storage piles of salt.

We continued on for the day and had our lunch in Elx or Elche. We rode around town trying to find a park to sit and relax.

the first place was a palm tree plantation that looked inviting and shaded. We rolled in and it stunk! So we turned around away from there. By stink i mean like sewerage.

We turned the block and saw some concrete tables and decided to sit in the park at the concrete tables. Little did we know that it was adjacent to the “soup kitchen” and a line up could be seen.

we gulped down our sandwiches and left hurriedly. Luckily when people came up to us we could honestly say we didn‘t understand and were generally left alone.

We carried on and arrived about 3pm in Alicante.
