We started the day with a slightly overcast sky which turned into rain. A cold rain. We kept going and as we climbed up, up , up, i decided to rest on the side of the road i hear,
”Hey, Laura”
I turned around. No mistaking Salvador, with his guitar on his back. We chatted and continued on while he took a breather, then he passed me again while I took (another)breather.
we reached the summit of the mountain and had a chat. He told us he had started out with his sandals and had to put shoes and socks on, and then his coat.
i also swapped out my socks because my feet were cold and wet, and then put my wool “icebreaker” leggings on.
and then to top it off my vest and coat for the descent.
I knew it was going to be cold.
