I will be heading off to the dentist this morning for a final check up before we head out on our South American tour.

Nothing like a good teeth cleaning to get you in the mood for a bike tour.

We are in our final packing and list building stage.

  • bikes are tuned
  • our worldly possessions are stored - now it is a matter of choosing what to bring. By all accounts I see that people usually take more than what they need. We are planning on wild camping so tent, sleeping bags, and cooking equipment is necessary. AND by the Ushuaia live cam and weather reports we will need some decent clothing.
  • bike boxes are at the ready - see photo
  • clothes are piled high and a final run of culling out the unnecessary items is in progress. You can never have too many merino t-shirts... Am I right?

That is our son's Trek bike on the left and our 2 Touring Surly Disc Truckers on the right.

Thanks to Tall Tree Cycles in Ottawa for the Boxes.
