A first century Roman Funerary…
The Tower of Scipios
It was built during the 1st century AD, six kilometers from the city of Tarraco, nowTarragona, capital of the Hispania Citerior, in the course of the Via Augusta, the Roman road that crossed the entire peninsula from the Pyrenees to Gades(Cadiz). It is one of the most important funerary monuments of the Roman era that still remains in the Iberian Peninsula.
WE kinda just noticed out of the corner of our eyes and stopped to take a look.
We took the train
and it was a fun way to mix things up a bit.
we wanted to ride up to andorra but we checked the weather and it is getting cold and snowy in Andorra.
So,
we’ve decided to head back up to the coast where the weather is warmer.
We did get to Albentosa, and we rode through cold rain for 3 hours and decided that we were unprepared for colder and rain/snow.
Back to the train.
We arrived at Cambrils at 22:30.
It was dark and we were all suited up with reflector vests, lights and flashers.
We only had about a kilometre to ride but we wanted to be safe.
We rolled off the train, we had 30 seconds to get ourselves and our bikes off the train, and headed into the town.

Bikes on the train.
Thankfully there was a bike lane and we didn’t have to ride in traffic.
i was also aware that we had on our reflective vests, lights and rear red flashing lights and we were being passed by a teenager on a scooter with a black coat, no light, coat flapping.
drivers seem to know that there are people on bikes and scooters.
we got in to out apartment, 5th floor,
It took 4 elevator rides up to the room to get us, our gear and bikes into the apartment
1st of Bob went up to check it out.
2nd I went up with the “luggage”.
3rd Bob took bike 1 up the 3’x4’ elevator
4th bike number 2
i had to wipe tire marks off the mirrored walls of the elevator.
We we took a day in Cambrils and relaxed.
