We had agreat room at the Hostel Barbate. Our standards are:
- Clean
- hot shower
- un complicated check in
thats a gold standard for us!
easy check in with friendly host to show us keys and where to store our bikes.
The evening was spent agonizing over routes and the best way to get to Tarifa. There were coastal routes and although beautiful, we opted away from the salt sand of the playa.
it didn’t really matter because Komoot took us on several unsuitable routes. One had us up an incredible incline and just stopped! Onto a vertical rocky pathway.
no way we could have gotten our laden bikes up there!
Followed by a steep rocky grade into a barbed wire fence,
we had to back track and found a suitable route.
there was a steep long climb, 5km, that really almost broke me. I just stopped, got my breath and kept going. Once to the top, it was smooth sailing into Tarifa
