We spent a comfortable night at the KKKHOTEL.

KKK by the way, stands for Kau,Kapa,Kapa.

Joseph, our host arrived in New Zealand, from Southern India to give his family, wife and child a better life. He has a Master's in Business and works as manager at the hotel. Also he works as cleaner and cook.

Joseph's wife, who has IT experience, maybe a computer degree, I forget, but works the self check out at the local grocery store to help with finances.

It is interesting to see the lengths people go to get a fresh start for their family.

He cooked us a great meal, lamb shanks for Bob and burger for me.

Then the following morning we were off.

The lush green tropical vegetation never gets tiring. Particularly when you know back in Canada things are cold and white with snow. Sorry Ottawa, wish you were here!

Each corner brings a new Vista and discovery.

Our road today was mostly back roads and secondary gravel roads. Great because there were few cars.

The last 5km however was on hwy 1. And it was busy.

And under construction.

Which means there were barriers blocking off the shoulders. We were able to ride in the outside of the barriers for a portion of the route and we felt very safe, but we had to run the gauntlet in traffic for about half a kilometre which was very stressful.

Bob's bike noise

Bob's bike had started to make noise. An unfamiliar sound which he thought might be his rear wheel hub bearings. We are hoping to track down a bike shop to get it fixed.
