We weren't sure we're we would stay as we rolled into Eketahuna. There didn't seem to be too many places identified. We opted for the local camp site and followed the directions down a side road and into the camp site.

We were surprised that there was no office. We asked a couple of campers and they said the prices are posted on the wall the kitchen and the owners come around at dusk to collect the fee.

At 7 dollars each it was a great deal. Clean kitchen, hot showers and right on it route.

We found a spot and set up our tent. Just as we were finishing up a woman came rolling in on her bike. She, Heather, was heading north after her South Island tour and we got some great tips for future South Island excursions from her.
